Teamsters Cheer Governor’s Fast Food Announcement
NEW YORK, NY – Teamsters Joint Council 16 President George Miranda had the following statement about Governor Andrew Cuomo’s announced wage board to explore higher pay in the fast food industry.
“The Fight For 15 has united low-wage workers across the country, from fast food to Walmart. The movement started here in New York, and Governor Cuomo is bringing it home with this week’s wage board announcement. $15 an hour and a union is the difference between poverty and a family sustaining job. Teamsters are proud to stand with Governor Cuomo and low-wage workers fighting income inequality.”
