Teamsters Joint Council 16 endorsed Kevin Riley today for the 12th New York City Council district in the Bronx, in a special election to be held December 22, 2020. Joint Council 16 and its 27 local unions represent 120,000 workers in New York City, Long Island, and the Hudson Valley.

“Kevin Riley will be a champion in the City Council for working people in the Bronx and he will have the strength of the Teamsters union behind him to win this election,” said George Miranda, President of Teamsters Joint Council 16. “Kevin has a life-long track record of fighting for his community, and he will ensure that they have the education, healthcare, and worker rights to survive this pandemic and thrive in the future.”

“I am grateful and proud to have earned the endorsement of the Teamsters Joint Council 16,” said Kevin Riley. “The Teamsters represent over 120,000 hardworking men and women from different industries such as transportation, food and beverage, sanitation, warehousing, manufacturing, construction, energy, film, parking, and government workers who have been fighting through the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic. I look forward to fighting alongside members of the union to ensure that we have secure, good paying jobs and great benefits.”
