Teamsters Praise New York State Budget
NEW YORK, NY – Teamsters Joint Council 16 President George Miranda had the following statement on the final New York State budget announced Thursday. Teamsters Joint Council 16 represents 120,000 workers in Downstate New York:
“It’s often said that a society can be judged by how it treats the least fortunate and those who have fallen behind. Governor Cuomo is leading the way and demonstrating that New York always rises to the occasion by raising the minimum wage and enacting paid family leave. These policies will make a significant difference in the lives of struggling families, and provide real opportunity for millions of New Yorkers to earn a decent wage. Governor Cuomo’s leadership is creating real change across the state for those who need it most and we applaud him on these accomplishments.”
