Teamsters Stand with Muslims at JFK
Teamsters turned out in force to support the New York Immigration Coalition and the Muslim community at an interfaith action at JFK Airport today. While Muslims held a Jummah Prayer, Teamsters and other allies encircled them in a sign of solidarity and protection.
Teamsters Joint Council 16, the organization of Teamster locals in New York City, Long Island, the Hudson Valley, and Puerto Rico, stated its opposition to President Donald Trump’s immigration policies in a statement Wednesday.
New York Teamsters plan to continue marching and rallying in support of immigrants and refugees in the weeks and months ahead.
